Will give medal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! write an indirect proof to show that opposite angles of a parallelogram are congruent.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do your own geometry homework

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this website is for kids to get help with homework, so i dont wont to here that

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Well, what have you figured out about it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nothing it is an essay question, no graph or picture or anything just the words

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you have to write any type of proof to prove it

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Well, it says an indirect proof. Do you know what that part means?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes in a way thats what i need help with how to write an idirect proff for this

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Well, what is an indirect proof in your mind?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

isn't it like the opposite of the actual proof

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ill tell you but this sight is to get help not answers

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the proof is first statement two sides of a parallelogram are not congruent second statement by the properties of a parallelogram two sides are always congruent and parallel THIrd statEMEnt OPPOSitE SideS oF A pARrellegram arE EQuAL

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thx

OpenStudy (anonymous):

At least someone was nice enough to help. And yes Kag wasn't rude but a lot of other people were. jeez.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the order of statements is that the first one is a contradiction opposite the second one a known fact the third one is back to the original statement but if you can add a common sense statement between the first and second one it is a definite right answer as long as it still makes since

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

An indirect proof, sometimes called a proof by contradiction or negation, is where you assume that something is false, then prove yourself wrong, therefore it must be true. http://www.regentsprep.org/Regents/math/geometry/GP3b/indirectlesson.htm http://www.dummies.com/how-to/content/how-to-do-an-indirect-proof.html

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you @e.mccormick

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Now, it says you ned to prove that opposite angles of a parallelogram are congruent. Well, that means you need to start with something opposite to that. Either something that has opposite angles that are congruent but is not a parallelogram, OR a parallelogram where the opposite angles of are not congruent. Either of these is a contradiction. Then prove it false.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks or the medal

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you are welcome

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@kag do you have a gaming system

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i do

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Just a question but who all here thinks I am a guy or girl?

OpenStudy (anonymous):
