OpenStudy (taylor<3srin):

"Napoleon made some important reforms in education. He reestablished some of the church schools which had provided a lot of the education available to girls, mostly at an elementary level. He thought it important that girls be educated in religion, and in the domestic skills necessary to run a household. He also thought girls should leanr maths, history, botany and (rather surprisingly) physics. Boys education was divided into two levels, elementary and secondary. At elementary level, he thought boys should learn such subjects as reading, writing, history, and the use of arms. boys who went on to secondary education were divided into two different sorts, those intended for a civil career, and those for a military career. The civil education concentrated on languages, rhetoric,a nd philosophy. The boys intended for the military were taught maths, physics, chemistry, and military matters. Boys who completed either course were guaranteed employment in their chosen field. "
