2x-2y=5 solve for y

OpenStudy (usukidoll):

solve in terms of y? subtract 2x from both sides and divide by -2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no, what I mean is, like, -2y = 2x + 5, I just having a hard time getting y alone and the other variables all on the other side.

OpenStudy (usukidoll):

divide by -2

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

-2y = -2x + 5 ---divide by -2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know, but I mess up on something is just get it all wrong, help?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y = -x + (-5)

OpenStudy (usukidoll):

divide by -2 // you'll get y = -2/-2 x + 5/-2 y = x -5/2

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

-2y = -2x + 5 ---divide by -2 -2y/-2 = -2x/-2 + 5/-2 y = x - 5/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay! thank you guys! I got something similar to that at first but instead it was a -x, I think that's what I got wrong thanks!!!!!

OpenStudy (texaschic101):
