8-bit Microprocessor is an outdated semiconductor device true or false?why?
For personal computers, I presume so, nowadays you will only see 32bit and 64bit for personal computers. (8bit replaced by 32bit and 16bit replaced by 64bit).
@Op: The number of bits do not define it's "superiority". What matters is the technology that was used to make it. We currently use Laser etching on silicon platters to manufacture Computer processors. 8-bit processors from the 80s-90s are outdated because they take up a lot of space and have a lot of built-in implementation. Their clock runs about 5-10 times slower compared to modern day computers. Hence, they are neither "VLSI" (Very large scale integration) nor current with modern-day processing speeds.
@eternialogic I am sorry to have come off that way, I didn't mean for it to sound like one or the other was superior, I was just making an observation. (Hence the word 'presume' thanks for the extra knowledge though :-).
no problem, I'm sure that there is something in there that will help viv
