1.According to the Empirical rule 68% of the data should fall between what two numbers? 10, 11, 12, 13, 13, 13, 14, 15, 16, 16, 17, 18, 18, 19, 20 12 and 17 11.98 and 18.02 13.5 and 16.35*** 10.20 and 12.92 2.According to the Empirical rule 95% of the data should fall between what two numbers? 12.3 13.2 13.8 14.6 14.7 14.9 15.2 15.7 15.8 15.8 16.2 16.2 16.4 16.4 16.6 16.7 17.3 17.5 17.6 17.8 18.1 18.3 18.6 18.7 A)12.8 and 19.6*** 13.4 and 18.1 14.5 and 17.9 15.7 and 19.3 3.According to the Empirical rule 99.7% of the data should fall between what two numbers? 12.3 13.2 13.8 14.6 14.7 14.9 15.2 15.7 15.8 15.8 16.2 16.2 16.4 16.4 16.6 16.7 17.3 17.5 17.6 17.8 18.1 18.3 18.6 18.7 A) 11.1 and 21.3*** 12.3 and 18.1 12.8 and 19.6 13.4 and 18.8 4. which method of gathering data is described by the statement "these are run only when probabilities are know as fact? Observed study Experiment Simulation*** Indirect study 5. which method of gathering data is described by the statement " you do manipulate variables" Observed study experiment*** simulation indirect study 6-1. Which type of bias is best describe by the statement "people are more prone to lying if the questions asked are about illegal or unpopular behavior"? Response non response wording*** freedom 6-2. same questions different statement "A telephone survey leaves out the homeless people or people working during the time you did your survey and not at home when you call"? Response non response*** wording freedom 6-3. same question different statement "the way in which the survey is written favors a particular response" Response non response wording*** freedom 6-4 Same question different statement "people have a tendency to embellish the past. Remember your grandpa who walked to school uphill both ways" Response non response wording*** freedom 7.A teen is dropped off at a mall and asked to survey twenty-fifth person that walks out of the mall. the situation above is a example of which sampling type? Stratified random sampling*** cluster sampling systematic sampling bivariate sampling 8. the regression line for an olympic event is given. When students predict the time it will take to complete the event in the 2400 olympics, they notice the time is equal to a negative value. Since the race cannot start begins, you can conclude that this is an example of what? Simpson's paradox lurking variables*** confounding variables extreme extrapolation 9. You want to assess the attitudes toward math of the students in your school district. You decide to break the students into subgroups according to the math course they are enrolled in. The subgroups, or strata, are integrated math I, integrated math II, integrated math III, pre calculus, AP statistics, and AP calculus. YOu then randomly conduct a survey with twenty students from each subgroup. Stratified random sampling cluster sampling systematic sampling bivariate sampling*** 10. A correlation is found between the number of police officers in a city and the number of reported crimes in a city. That is, as a city increases it's number of police officers, the number of reported crimes increases. The mayor, upon learning this, may conclude that crimes is on the rise, OR that with the additional officers, a higher proportion of crimes are being caught, thus increasing the reporting. Which is the reason for the incorrect analysis? Simpson's paradox lurking variables*** extreme extrapolation divergent data (***) what i believe is the answer

1) disagrees with the answer I got. I used the same method for 2) and 3) and got the same answers you did. What did you get for mean and standard deviation for 1)? 5) I don't understand the question 6-1) The wording of the question is not mentioned, so I don't think it's wording bias. 6-4) I don't think it's any of the first 3 answers, and I don't understand what is meant by "freedom bias" 7) That really doesn't describe stratified random sampling. 8) One of the other answers really plainly explains what has happened. 9) I don't think that's right - there's a big clue in the question! For the rest, you've chosen what I would choose.
