POINT- SLOPE FORM

OpenStudy (accidentalaichan):

Given the equation y − 4 = 3/4(x + 8) in point-slope form, identify the equation of the same line in standard form. −3/4x + y = 10 3x − 4y = −40 y =3/4x + 12 y = 3/4x + 10

OpenStudy (isaiah.feynman):

Simply solve for y.

OpenStudy (accidentalaichan):

y = 3/4x + 12? Wouldn't that be Slope-Intercept form?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y − 4 = 3/4(x + 8) 4(y-4)=3(x+8) 4y-16=x+24 0=x-4y+40

OpenStudy (accidentalaichan):

Just as I suspected. Thank you dearly :) I've always been confused on how to solve point- slope equations. y - y1 = m(x - x1) is very confusing.
