In which sentence does the verb agree with the subject? A. Neither of my parents know about the surprise party in their honor. B. Both of the dogs barks at the fire hydrant on the corner. C. Either of those meals sounds quite delicious tonight.

OpenStudy (rose21):

A. Neither of my parents know about the surprise party in their honor.

Nooo "neither...know" NG "both barks" NG "either sounds" OK

OpenStudy (rose21):

''meals sounds'' sounds completely wrong

OpenStudy (rose21):

it would have to be meals sound

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The subject of "either of those meals" is "either" not "meals," which is the object of the preposition "of." Sometimes correct English sounds odd now. That is why I mentioned "It is I."!
