why cant a graph have two or more horizontal asymptotes?

OpenStudy (fellowroot):

Actually inverse tangent can. lower one is -pi/2, upper one is pi/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i meant to say more than two sorry

OpenStudy (fellowroot):

Well at least for rational functions, their horizontal asymptotes take on the form of the equation y=mx+b. Its a horizontal asymptote when m=0 and a slant when m does not equal 0.
