Continuous Functions

OpenStudy (lena772):

OpenStudy (lena772):

I and III only I only III only I and II only II and III only

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A continuous function is one without any discontinuities--this includes asymptotes and point discontinuities/holes, if that helps.

OpenStudy (lena772):

So III isn't an option?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

In the denominator of I, x^2 can only be positive so the denominator must be at least 1 (which means denominator can't be 0 so it's fine). In the denominator of II, x^2 can be 0 which creates a discontinuity. In III, the only odd thing about absolute value is the sharp turn but it's still continuous.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

III is continuous. There are no restrictions on what x can be.

OpenStudy (lena772):

So it's A, C or E?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's A, I and III only
