Yesterday Karen bought fudge and caramels for $6.00. She bought three pieces of fudge for .50 cents and caramels at .25 cents each. She gave some caramels to her friend Carrie, now she has three pieces of fudge and ten caramels. If Karen did not eat any candy yet, how many caramels did Carrie receive?

OpenStudy (shamil98):

3 pieces of caramel --- > 1.50 6 - 1.5 = 4.5 4.5 /.25 = 18 18 pieces of caramel. You should be able to compute the rest from here.
