A graph is translated according to the following rule. Describe the translation. (x, y) → (x, y − 3)

Well the only change that is applied is that the y-coordinate is being lowered by 3 units. So the coordinate is being brought down 3 units

And the same thing there...except this time 2 is being added to the x-coordinate...so the coordinate would be moved over to the right by 2 units. Does that make sense? so with that graph...instead of the vertex being at (2,1) like it is...it would be at (2 + 2 , 1) or (4,1)
