need help soving this algebra problem please -x+5=x+3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok... the first thing you do is add x to both sides, to get rid of -x on the left side

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so 5=2x+3 then subtract 3 from both sides to get the variable term isolated

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-x+5=x+3 -- separate the x and the constant add x to both sides, and subtract 3 to both sides 2 = 2x -- divide both sides by 2 1 = x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

divide both sides by 2 so x=1, like @helpme1.2 said

OpenStudy (anonymous):

X=1

OpenStudy (mkmkasim):

x=1..... move the x over to the left. move the 3 to the left. divide 2 from both sides
