does amplitude change the wavelength of a wave

OpenStudy (mrdoe):

nope

OpenStudy (lastdaywork):

A mechanical wave dissipates energy and loses amplitude over time..but its frequency remains the same (not talking about Doppler here)..hence if the wave hasn't crossed any medium boundary; its wavelength will also remain the same :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Amplitude and wavelength are independent of each other unless there is absorption that is wavelength-dependent.
