Can someone help me learn Japanese?

OpenStudy (sonyalee77):

I know a little >_<

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Awesome! X3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know some too. Ultimately you have to spend a lot of time practicing. All anyone else can do is point you in the right direction and answer questions.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay thank you! :3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How are you learning? Do you have questions?

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Start learning the kana so you can get away from using romaji (English letters) as soon as possible. The more you work in Japanese, the more you will learn in it. There are dozens of professionally made videos on Youtube and elsewhere that will cover all the basic sounds. From there is it grammar, kanji, and culture. This is practice and time.

OpenStudy (opcode):

I agree with e.mccormick, but I think you should learn kanji as soon as you can, as it is very time-consuming. So the sooner you start the faster you will be-able to become more fluent in reading Japanese. There are a few pieces of kanji that are very easy to understand since they are pictorial base. Take the symbol of tree in kanji: 木 (Not that hard, and it is pretty easy to remember.) You have the internet, use it you will find a lot of resources to help you. If you can't I am willing to bombard you with links that helped me if you would like. Anyway, if you are still learning hiragana, and katakana try here: http://www.nhk.or.jp/lesson/english/syllabary/index.html
