OpenStudy (lena772):

Can someone help me create an exponential function using these coordinates? -1, -4 0, 6 1, 8 2, 10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is the first one -1, -4 or -1, 4

OpenStudy (lena772):

-1, -4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well it has to be the equation y = something + 6.. because the y intercept is 6.

OpenStudy (lena772):

can you tell me the y intercept of f(x) = 4(1.02)^x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[f(x)= a ^{x}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Assume this what you are looking at for an exponential function?

OpenStudy (lena772):

okay?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The above equation is the definition of an exponential function. The problem is that at x=0 in an exponential equation y always = 1. And at x= 1 y will always be (a).

OpenStudy (lena772):

Which statement best compares the y-intercepts of f(x) and g(x)? The y-intercept of f(x) is equal to the y-intercept of g(x). The y-intercept of f(x) is equal to 2 times the y-intercept of g(x). The y-intercept of g(x) is equal to 2 times the y-intercept of f(x). The y-intercept of g(x) is equal to 2 plus the y-intercept of f(x). g(x) is the first one obviously

OpenStudy (anonymous):

To find y intercepts make x = 0 and solve for y.

OpenStudy (lena772):

So it's D then? cause you say the x intercept for the first one is 6, and i got 4 for the second one
