I think it's a multistep process to get to a on this one. First figure out c. Can you find side c using pythagorean theorem?

6^2 + 4^2 = c^2
Solve that for c and what do you get?

If ADC and BDA are similar, then
AD/DC = BD/DA
6/a = 4/6
4a = 6*6 = 36
a = 36/4 = 9
