Find the slope of line passing through the points (5, 9) and (5, -2) a)0 b)-11 c)undefined d)11

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay so you graph it . put the points in the graph and you can calculate the slope. Or just do (xone - xtwo)/(yone-ytwo). which is 0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i lied not zero

hartnn (hartnn):

or use the slope formula The slope of the line through points (x1,y1) and (x2,y2) is given by : \(\huge m=\frac{y_1-y_2}{x_1-x_2}\) now, just put the values and find m.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its undefined

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cuz it is a vertical line

OpenStudy (mrnood):

because x2-x1 = 0 the formula above (hartnn) is not defined (cannot divide by zer0) so oyu have your answer. The 2 x values are the same - the line is vertical - it has no 'slope'
