When the ball bounces off the floor and is moving upward, is it still in free fall?

OpenStudy (roadjester):

free fall is as the name suggests, "falling" going up is not free fall when the ball bounces off the floor it will go up; after reaching it's highest point, it will start falling again and that is when it is in free fall again

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think it is an example of Collision ( I'm not sure)

Parth (parthkohli):

@roadjester: No! Free-fall motion is defined as motion only affected by the gravity of the earth. So it is in a free-fall at all times except at the moment of collision, when it faces the normal reaction.
