See you around :) Hope this helps Unicellular organisms are organisms that have only a single cell, or organisms that carry out all their functions within a single cell. Some unicellular organisms include bacteria and some forms of algae such as diatoms. The diatoms are eukaryotic algae which are one of the most common types of phytoplankton. They have a silica-based cell wall consisting of two symmetrical sides with a split between them. Some additional types of unicellular organisms include archaea, protozoa, and several types of unicellular fungi or yeasts. In general, unicellular organisms can only be viewed through a microscope due to their minuscule size. A few unicellular organisms, however, may be visible to the eye without requiring a microscope. One such example is the giant amoeba.
