Find the y-intercept. 9x + y = 0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

when x = 0

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

Finding x and y intercepts for straight lines is easy. Just set the other variable = 0. If we wanted to find the x-intercept, we set \(y = 0\): \[9x + y = 0\]\[9x + 0 = 0\]\[9x = 0\]\[x = 0\] That means the line crosses the x-axis at \(x = 0\).
