Find the equation of a line with the given points. (Put your answers in the form y = mx + b.) (6, 1) (5, 4)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

First, find the gradient/slope: m= change in y / change in x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y = 4x - 7 is the answer.

OpenStudy (radar):

@Anna do you know how that answer was gotten?

OpenStudy (radar):

Do you want to know?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think she is just using this site to get answers and dont care how the helpers are getting them. you know @radar

OpenStudy (radar):

I hope you're wrong, but I may be disappointed.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If one is looking for answers then then Wolfram or similar is the place to be. This site/community has helped me learn and I am grateful :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

amen i tell them to go to answers.com lol

OpenStudy (radar):

I checked your profile @milkacha and I can see that, also I notice you were going to give the asker real help.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

their are some people that will actually ask how you got that answer

OpenStudy (radar):

@Marco,Phillip yes, and I thought this might of been the case but alas I have my doubts.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i understand that totally @radar

OpenStudy (radar):

Her Icon changed, maybe she will respond now.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Annа are you here now

OpenStudy (radar):

@Anna do you want help with this problem? I like your new Icon

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i guess not will off to another question

OpenStudy (radar):

Yeah, I am outta here also.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hi yes sorry. i know that you have to first, calculate the slope of the line using the slope formula. and then pick either point, and substitute the x and y values and the slope into the point-slope form. I just get confused...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Marco,Phillip @radar

OpenStudy (radar):

Very well, good luck with your studies.
