I don't want an answer. All I want to know is if you can tell whether something is a liquid/solid/gas just based on a solubility curve? And if so, how? On the basis of the solubility curve for KNO3 what type of substance would you expect KNO3 to be? http://takeexam.next.ecollege.com/ec/pub/K12Content/Courses/resources/swfs/media/Ninth_Grade/Science/Unit17604/Lesson68989/VHS_CHEM_S2_02_02_107_solubility_curve.gif liquid solid gas It's impossible to tell.
I know KNO3 is a solid, but I just don't know if you can tell that just by looking at the solubility curve. I didn't find it out that way, I had to look it up.
For some reason I cannot view the picture.
Huh, wonder why it's not working. Here is a different one. It's basically the same thing. Let me know if it doesn't work. http://www.google.com/url?sa=i&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=images&cd=&cad=rja&docid=U4q0MForzpxyDM&tbnid=9QJGKEHcM1fAoM:&ved=0CAUQjRw&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nakka-rocketry.net%2Fknsyn1.html&ei=9ovxUrSaEIapyAGPhoHYBg&bvm=bv.60444564,d.aWc&psig=AFQjCNFjN3msJIfHNSAdgG_QTtKt8eQd_Q&ust=1391648116964986
If not, just look up "solubility curve of KNO3"
Sorry about that!
It's ok. Look what I found: http://quizlet.com/4407385/state-of-mattersolubility-flash-cards/ Somewhere in there it states that when the temperature decreases the solubility of solids and liquids decreases. Maybe you can look up more special characteristics like that.
