how dobi write y=2x-3 in function notation

In function notation we use a number (usually f) to denote the function and then brackets after that number with the variable to be graphed inside. In your case it would be written as: f(x) = 2x -3 The reason that we use it is if you wanted to sub a value in then instead of doing a line saying "let x = 3" we can write it as this: f(3) = 2*3 - 3
