Psalm 23 can be characterized as lyrical because it a. uses metaphors, similes, and imagery of nature. b. tells a story from which a moral can be drawn. c. has no consistent rhyme scheme. d. can be accompanied by music.
Hmm. I'd say personally A. But that's just my opinion. I mean, C doesn't make much sense and B is true but I don't think it applies to the question. :/
B. because David was saying that the Lord can do anything, and he shouldn't worry because God will take care of him.
It probably is B haha. I've never really thought about this before. So two votes for B :P
I remember having to read this psalm and answering the same question for my father for my confirmation. (my father is the pastor)
Ah I see. I was never asked this during my confirmation. But that's probably cuz different churches is my presumption. :)
Oh, what religion are you?
Lutheran.
The answer is A.
It talks about nature in that it refers to valleys, shepherds, etc. It's metaphoric in that the psalmist compares dark and confusing times in his life to "valleys of deep shadow," and to god's guidance, loving provisions, and protection as "keeping [his] cup well filled," so that he lacks nothing. That's why I think it's probably A.
Sorry, it can be counted as lyrical because many Psalms were set to music in the past. In fact, the word itself refers to poems or songs used in worship.
Hope that helps...
