If the chance you will be able to stop suddenly at a stop sign in four inches of snow varies inversely with the speed you are going, the relationship can be represented by the values, if x = 20 miles per hour and y = 80% chance of stopping, then what is y if x is 50 miles per hour?
80%=20k k=? when you find k, plug it into ? % = 50 k See what I am doing?
Yes I do ^.^ You divide the first equation by 20, that will equal k. Then yeah, plug the k in, right?
Okay so it would turn out to be ?% = 50 (4), which then equals 200?
Ooop, sorry. I misread the q. 20 miles per hour 80% chance the car will stop.... those 2 vary inversely. I would say yk=x so 80%k=20 then find k, and plug it into ?% k = 50 I am not sure though.
Yeah, another student wrote the problem, sorry about the confusion :/ Okay, so k would equal 0.25, sooo 0.25k = 50? I am so confused haha
yeah, I am not sure abt this, I am not good at word problems.
lol no worries, thank you for the help anyways (:
haven't helped you, but.. yw
