What are the limits of: 1) lim (f(x)+g(x)) x->7- 2) lim (f(x)+14g(x)) x->7+ How do you solve this? graph attached inside :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

graph!!

OpenStudy (agent0smith):

lim (f(x)+g(x)) = lim f(x) + lim g(x) so add up the value of each function, on the left of x=7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(7, 9) + (7, 10) ? so (14, 19) ? or are they asking for 7 + 7= 14 ?

OpenStudy (agent0smith):

f(x) is the same thing as y, it's not a point.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohh so 9+10 ? = 19?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ooh yay!! :) so for the second one, would it be like this? 10+14(2)= 10+28= 38 ?

OpenStudy (agent0smith):

^don't think you found the limit on the right of 7, for f(x)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh oops.. 12+ 2(14)=12+28=40 ?

OpenStudy (agent0smith):

yep

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay awesome!! thank you!! :)
