determine the end behaviors for: f(x)=-4x^3-5x^2-7x+2 please help :(

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

what class are you in?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

alg 2

@zzr0ck3r

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

all you need to do on this is think about how the graph looks, polynomials are dominated by the term with the highest degree, so the end behavior of this is going to look like the end behavior of -x^3. what is the end behavior of y=-x^3? In other words, what happens when x gets very large?

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

or when x gets very small

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ahh i see and its because of the negatives right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@zzr0ck3r

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and then the postive in +2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i have two more questions would you be able to help me with it?

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

well the negatives will play a roll in the answer, but if you graph -x^3 you will see the end behavior is infinity and negative infinity it tends to infinity as x goes to negative infinity, it tends to negative infinity as x goes to infinity.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thank you and would you be able to help me with two more

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

close this and open another, so others can see

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thank you
