OpenStudy (***[isuru]***):

do u know how to find the length of a straight line when the coordinates of 2 points r given ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ADD THEM ?

OpenStudy (***[isuru]***):

no... let;s say the coordinates of A is ( x1 , y1) and the coordinates of B is ( x2 , y2) then the length of line AB is \[AB = \sqrt { ( y_{2} - y_{1} )^{2} + (x_{2} - x_{2})^{2}}\]

OpenStudy (***[isuru]***):

now the perimeter of the figure u got is AB + BC +CD + DE +EA u have to find the length of AB BC CD EA seperately

OpenStudy (***[isuru]***):

i will help with u finding the length of side AB ... the rest is up to u ok :) ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it 7 ?

OpenStudy (***[isuru]***):

the coordinates of point A = (2, 0) point B = ( -4 , 5) now according to the above equation x1 = 2 x2 = -4 y1 = 0 y2 = 5 then \[AB = \sqrt{ ( 5 - 0)^{2} + (-4 - 2 )^{2} }\]

OpenStudy (***[isuru]***):

\[AB = \sqrt{ 25 + 36 } = \sqrt{ 61}\]

OpenStudy (***[isuru]***):

now... follow the same procedure for the remaining lines 1. chose the line u want 2 . take the pair of coordinates at the 2 ends 3. substitute them in the given equation can u do that :) ?
