OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

What it's a finite interval?

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

I think it means length is finite, but its a weird way of saying it...I dont get much on google.

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

i think so, the bounds are some numbers other than infinity (-infty, 2) is not a finite interval maybe

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

must be

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

are all intervals infinite ?

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

all non degenerate

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

just a dumb basic q, (1, 2) is infinite right ?

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

oh degenerate means ?

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

degenerate means only one element [a], (a,b) is infinite by density of reals

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

yes (1,2) is infinite

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

like, (1, 1) ?

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

that is empty, because 1 is not included

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

or [1, 1] i think...

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

oh ya.. nice :)

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

[1,1] = [1] but we never write [1,1]

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

gotcha... and ty :)

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

:)
