Pls help:)

OpenStudy (ajprincess):

someone pls check my answers

OpenStudy (ajprincess):

@e.mccormick , @ganeshie8 ,@hartnn

OpenStudy (ajprincess):

@hartnn

OpenStudy (ajprincess):

for 5th my answer is B and D

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

LOL. I was just about to mention that one.

OpenStudy (ajprincess):

what a coincidence lol.

OpenStudy (ajprincess):

for 4th I think c also will be one of the answers

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Well, they can be. I am not sure if are is always correct, but that is one thing a systems annalist does: work with the customer on customizing the systems software. However, are implies always, so I was not 100% sure on that myself.

OpenStudy (ajprincess):

oh k.

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

On the last one I also wonder if processing is part of it. As things are processed, new instructions are carried out, and those in turn govern the operation of the computers. But, it is ultimately the software that tells the CPU when to do those things, so I lean towards it NOT being an answer.

OpenStudy (ajprincess):

hmm. hw about my other answers. are they right?

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

I don't see anything else wrong. Now, I am not 100% on this stuff... too bad Jagatuba is not on, he has a BSIT degree already.

OpenStudy (ajprincess):

oh k. thnks a lot:)

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

I also did a little research to be sure, and I do not see anything other than the one above that you fixed.

OpenStudy (ajprincess):

i got 84.17 marks. so i guess I missed something.

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Hmmm....

OpenStudy (ajprincess):

Luckily I have 2 more attempts so no problem.:)

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Look at the 2nd to last, option i more closely. It was one I was not 100% on not being the components of the CPU.

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

I know the ALU, CU, Registers, and Cache Memory are parts, but not sure if they are all there is to it or if the question just wants some of the parts.

OpenStudy (ajprincess):

memory is not actulally in the cpu bt close to it. so statement one cannot be true.

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CPU_cache It is a form of memory. With just the generic term "memory" it makes me wonder.

OpenStudy (ajprincess):

oh. I think what they mean by the memory is the main memory. In my notes it says main memory is located close to the CPU, but not on the CPU chip itself. that's y i said option i cannot be true

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Yes, that is absolutly correct. main memory is not part of the CPU. Only cache is.

OpenStudy (ajprincess):

another statement says primary memory include RAM, ROM and cache.

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Well, primary vs. secondary is RAM types vs. drive types.

OpenStudy (ajprincess):

ya so far I knew RAM is only referrd to as main memory bt after reading this I excluded that option as false one

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Ram is just Random Access Memory, as opposed to sequential

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Computer_data_storage

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Specifically the diagram that shows the primary storage. It is accurate. Cache and registers are forms of primary storage that is on the CPU. They run at or near the CPU speed and allow for direct manipulation. The drive is secondary and takes a little more work. Tertiary storage is things the machine can get to but that are slow: a tape in a tape drive, an automated archival system. Offline storage is basically everything that takes human intervention, whether it be an old cassette tape drive system to change tapes, or the floppies not in a drive or the thumb drive in your pocket. Offline becomes Secondary or Tertiary once connected.

OpenStudy (ajprincess):

I get t nw. thank u so much for clarifying it for me.:)

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

np. yah, first time I hear a drive referred to as secondary storage I was like, "What the heck!" Before, I had always though of things as memory and storage, where storage was all the drives. But in computer science they specifically list memory in many forms as primary storage. The exception being flash ram, which is more like a drive and secondary or lower.

OpenStudy (ajprincess):

hmm k. thnks.:)

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Have fun! And good luck with your studying.
