Can Someone Check my answers ****** I'll give a medal

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A right triangle has A) three sides with the same length B) two sides that are parallel C) at least two congruent sides <---- My answer D) two sides that are perpendicular

hartnn (hartnn):

"right" triangle means one of the angle in that triangle is 90 degrees. when 2 sides are perpendicular, the angle included between them will be 90 degrees.

hartnn (hartnn):

so its not C :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I remember answering this question before but i forgot what I put I was debating on D or C.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok D?

hartnn (hartnn):

yup.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ohh thanks :)

hartnn (hartnn):

welcome ^_^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Line AB contains points A (3, −2) and B (1, 8). The slope of line AB is ? A) −5 b) negative 1/5 <---- My answer C) 1/5 D) 5

hartnn (hartnn):

nopes, use this \The slope of the line through points (x1,y1) and (x2,y2) is given by : \(\huge m=\frac{y_1-y_2}{x_1-x_2}\) now, just put the values and find m.

hartnn (hartnn):

y1 - y2 = -2 -8 x1-x2 = 3-1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-10/2

hartnn (hartnn):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do i divide it ?

hartnn (hartnn):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-5

hartnn (hartnn):

correct :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Line AB contains points A (−3, 5) and B (−3, 3). Line AB has a slope that is A) zero B) undefined <---- My answer C) positive D) negative

hartnn (hartnn):

correct :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

When the coordinates (1, 1), (4, 4), (7, 1), and (4, -2) are joined, which shape is formed? A) Parallelogram B) Rectangle C) Trapezoid D) Square <--- my answer

hartnn (hartnn):

yes, it is square :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Find the perimeter of the following shape, rounded to the nearest tenth:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A) 17.9 B) 18 <--- my answer C) 18.6 D) 19.1

hartnn (hartnn):

2 (sqrt (16+4)+sqrt(25+1)) is 19.14

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh so its D?

hartnn (hartnn):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Point E is located at (2, −3) and point F is located at (−2, −1). Find the y value for the point that is 3 over 4 the distance from point E to point F. A) 1.75 B) 0.5 C) −2 D) −1.5 <---- My answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I was wondering If you could help me understand this one @hartnn

hartnn (hartnn):

(-3-(-1)) (3/4) = -3/2 = -1.5 so yes, you're correct :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ohh I thought I was going to get it wrong.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Segment RS is an altitude of triangle P QR. Find the area of the triangle.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A) 15.5 <---- My answer B) 16 C) 17.5 D) 18

hartnn (hartnn):

1/2 *8* 4

hartnn (hartnn):

that came from Area of triangle = 1/2 * base * height

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can you explain it to me a bit more please

hartnn (hartnn):

PQ is the base of that triangle can you find the length of PQ ? using distance formula or any technique ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok I got B or C?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but Im debating between those two

hartnn (hartnn):

1/2 *8* 4 =16

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So B?

hartnn (hartnn):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I appreciated it for you helping me there are three more questions I need you to check. And then we're done

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Find the x value for point F such that DF and EF form a 1:3 ratio.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A) 0.75 <--- Debating B) −1 C) 2 D) −1.75 <-- Debating

hartnn (hartnn):

(nx1 +mx2)/(m+n) so calculate [(-3)*3 - 1*2 ]/(1+3)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got 2.75

hartnn (hartnn):

thats because there's a sign mistake **** [(-3)*3 + 1*2 ]/(1+3)

hartnn (hartnn):

[(-3)*3 + 1*2 ]/(1+3) =-1.75

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats what I got

OpenStudy (anonymous):

D is the correct ?

hartnn (hartnn):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Find the x value for the point that splits segment CD in half if point C is located at (−2, 4) and point D is located at (3, 7). A) 2.5 B) 1 C) 0.5 <--- My answer D) 3

hartnn (hartnn):

yes :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Quadrilateral ABCD has congruent angles and opposite sides that are congruent. What classification can be given to ABCD? A) Parallelogram B) Rectangle C) Rhombus <--- My answer D) Square

hartnn (hartnn):

rhombus has congruent sides, not angles. Rectangle has congruent angles :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohh so its a rectangle ?

hartnn (hartnn):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

may I ask how?

hartnn (hartnn):

all angles congruent means all angles are 90 degrees, only squares and rectangles have that property (not rhombus) "opposite sides that are congruent" squares has all sides congruent. thats why answer is rectangle only.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you so much for helping me and I really appreciated for your time and effort. Thank you again.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ohh ok I get it now thank you again :)

hartnn (hartnn):

your welcome ^_^
