Choose the equation below that represents the line passing through the point (1, -4) with a slope of one half. y - 4 = one half(x - 1) y + 4 = 2(x - 1) y + 4 = one half(x - 1) y - 4 = 2(x + 1)
In order to get your answer you have to get y by itself The first step would be to get rid of the Parentheses by multiplying through Does that make sense?
what would i multiply the parentheses by
The number on the outside so one half (X-1) is going to be .5X-.5
oh okay then what do i need to do?
OK i found an easier way sorry! I You Plug in 1 for X and -4 For Y in each equation One will give you an answer That has a slope of 1/2. Slope is always the number paired with X. Try that it will be much easier
okay ill try that :) thank you
No Problem sorry if that was confusing
its okay :) math is confusing i use to love it till now >.<
Yes it is I love it but sometimes don't fully understand....I'm in precalc its the worst!
Yea i bet i dont understand alot of things but im taking a practice test so it don't really matter all i get is 1 point for it
