OpenStudy (j2lie):

How do you factor 7p^2-20p+12?

OpenStudy (j2lie):

@agent0smith

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the two possible p's must multiply to (12*7) and add to -20 so u have to think about what multiplies to 84 and adds to -20. u would find -14 and -6 and then get (7p^2 -14 p) + (-6p +12) then 7p(p-2) - 6(p-2) which would go to (7p-6)(p-2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hope that helps

OpenStudy (j2lie):

ok. thank you.

OpenStudy (j2lie):

when I foil it, it is different from the original problem.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you must be foiling incorrectly

OpenStudy (j2lie):

I multiplied it wrong i thought 7 times 2 is 12.
