What is the transfer of heat from a stove burner to a pan on the burner called? conduction convection radiation
what d u feel?
convection
Nope./.
A or B
ok....when the pan is kept on the stove....THERE IS A PHYSICAL CONTACT between the pan and the stove.....- so now what do u think?
so...the pan gets heated by CONDUCTION......think like this.....the pan is metallic...so it has free electrons....when u heat the base of the pan, the electrons closest to the burner get energy and the oscillate or move about and COLLIDE with other electrons of the pan....hence the entire pan heats up...this is conduction
But if there was any water inside ,,then the WATER heats up by convection
Basic idea of convection is like this-" the water at the base heats up ,,,and when its temperature rises, it rises to the top....cold water comes to the base bcos its more dense,,,,again the same process continues till the end.....whole water heatsup
I believe AnthonyStark is correct, the way I saw the question is that there was a grill between pan and stove. Practical thinking I guess.
Ok.... The fundamental modes of heat transfer are: Conduction or diffusion The transfer of energy between objects that are in physical contact. Convection The transfer of energy between an object and its environment, due to fluid motion. Advection The transfer of energy from one location to another as a side effect of physically moving an object containing that energy. Radiation The transfer of energy to or from a body by means of the emission or absorption of electromagnetic radiation. SOURCE: wikipedia
so it is A
