2x+3y-2=-8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

First step=subtract -2 from -8.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm assuming you're trying to get this into slope intercept form (y=mx+b) \[2x+3y-2=-8\] First, we need to isolate 3y. To do this, add 2 to both sides and subtract 2x from both sides. \[3y=-2x-6\] in order to get y isolated, divide both sides by 3 \[y = -\frac{ 2 }{ 3 }x-2\] Does that help?

OpenStudy (vshiroky):

It does. Would I plug in my own numbers in order to graph it? Thank you

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if you wanted to graph this, b , or -2 is the y intercept. -2/3x is the slope

|dw:1392071126922:dw| should look similar that

OpenStudy (vshiroky):

Great!! Thank you so much... I wanted to make sure I was doing it correctly and looks like I was.

Great, glad to help
