1. In what way are plants in a sunny mountain meadow and sulfur bacteria in a deep sea vent alike? (1 point) A. they both use photosynthesis to make their own food B. they are both heterotrophs C. they both use chemosynthesis to produce their own food D. they are both autotrophs
@beccaboo333 ?
i mean A
The answer is actually D. Sulfur bacteria in a deep sea vent would not be able to use photosynthesis because in order for photosynthesis to occur, there needs to be light available. Obviously there is no light in a deep sea vent. That rules out A. Plants in a sunny mountain meadow however, do use photosynthesis. That rules out C. It isn't B because the definition of a heterotroph is an organism that gets its nutrition from other organisms. If an organism is a autotroph, that means it makes its own nutrition. It does not get it from any other organism. That makes the answer D. Medal please :D
