How many pounds of cashew nuts worth 75 cents a pound must be mixed with 10 pounds of pecans worth $1.50 a pound to make a mixture worth $1.00 a pound? Which of the equations could be used to solve for p, the pounds of cashew nuts?

Is this exactly what the question asked? I have the right idea however I'm unfortunately getting very confused. I know you have to make up an equation so what answer choices were you given?

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

okay, if the number of pounds of cashew nuts is represented by \(p\): \($0.75p =\) the value of the cashew nuts \($1.5*10 =\) the value of the 10 lbs of pecans \($0.75p + $1.5*10 =\) total value of the nuts the total value of the nuts is \($1*(10 + p)\) (10 pounds of pecans, \(p\) pounds of cashews) Set those two expressions equal to each other and solve for \(p\)
