Limit ... everybody ... Limit. Find it ??? :P lim x->pi/4 (tan x- sin 2x)/(tanx-1) thank you :)

OpenStudy (kainui):

Are you allowed to use L'Hopital's rule?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No sadly :(

OpenStudy (kainui):

Good thing I asked. Well good luck.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thank you so much :D have a good day sir :)

OpenStudy (kainui):

I'd try multiplying it by (tan+1)/(tan+1) , not sure if that'll help, but that's what I'd try.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

o_O wow

OpenStudy (kainui):

Haha, Maybe note that sin(2x) is equal to 2sinxcosx. Yeah, maybe it's not very helpful, but I mean, who else is helping here? I have no paper around to say, so I'm pretty disabled right now with respect to this kind of stuff. But usually you can try a bunch of stuff and eventually some kind of clever manipulation works, you know?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:D yeah :)) hew hew

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OMG looked back to it, i have no idea what to do :))

OpenStudy (kainui):

I say you do L'H and see what the answer is supposed to be, sometimes just knowing where you're going is marginally helpful enough to be worth something. I grabbed some paper, I'm pushing trig functions around as we type.
