We did an experiment in science that we cannot find an explanation for. When we increased our body temperature, our blood sugar levels also increased, and when we decreased our body temperature, our blood sugar levels decreased. Why is this? Thank you

OpenStudy (petiteme):

I guess.. so that homeostasis will be attained.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes the only reaon is human homeostasis

OpenStudy (petiteme):

I got this: Homeostasis describes the functions of your body which work to keep your internal environment constant within a very narrow range. Two important aspects of homeostasis are balancing the blood sugar levels and maintaining the body temperature.

OpenStudy (petiteme):

Hope I helped ^_^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

actually hormonal Make a OGTT , oral glukoz tolerance test

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you, we understand that it is homeostasis; however WHY would it decrease with cold and INCREASE with hot? something about blood pressure or different absorption rates with different temperature? :)

OpenStudy (petiteme):

If that's the case, it's most probably because of the hormones.
