easy medal+fan whats the description of SSS

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Side, side, side

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

When all sides help determine the triangles are congruent.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well i need the full description on it. not just side side side.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If three sides of one triangle are congruent to three sides of another triangle, then these two triangles are congruent.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

SSS = Side, Side, Side When all sides help determine the triangles are congruent.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I feel a win coming on.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well for triangles to be congruent by side-side-side they must have all three corresponding congruent sides. For triangles to be similar by side-side-side, all corresponding sides must be proportional.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

When all three sides are congruent, the triangles are congruent.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Good enough?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how is the example SSS theres two different numbers.. wouldnt it have to be like all sides are two??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No, as long as the sides are congruent to their corresponding sides the triangle is congruent by SSS. For example A = 2, B = 2, C = 3. to be congruent the other angles have to be A' = 4, B' = 4, and C' = 6. the first triangle was increased by a factor of 2. Do you understand?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

*sides *AB, BC, CA *AB', BC', and CA'

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry about any confusion.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohhhhhhh haha okay that makes more sense thanks you deserve the medal :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks, always a pleasure to help those in need.
