Express the complex number in trigonometric form. -6i

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Would the correct answer be 6(cos 0° + i sin 0°)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmm no

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cos 0°=1 so you'd be doing the opposite of what you want to do. -6(cos 90°+ i sin 90°)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

in trig form the number out front should be positive, it is the absolute value but that angle is not 90 degrees

Ahhh my bad. @satellite73 knows

OpenStudy (anonymous):

there are many ways to express the number in trig form, but you need that angle you could say it is \(270\) or \(-90\) or whatever

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So 6(cos 270° + i sin 270°) would be the answer? @satellite73
