This is a bit tougher than your average missile test question. y coordinate will be y = vo sin@ t +(1/2)(-9.88m/s^2) t^2 x coordinate will be x = vo cos@ t Your ramp is at y=0 up to x=50, then y = (x-50)sin(42) for x>50. You might just graph it, putting that ramp on the graph, too.

Yes. It is (x-50), but I think is tan42º instead of sin42º. Because x is the coordinate where the missile hit the ramp, . Look at the ramp: there is a right triangle there where the adjacent side is (x-50) and opposite side is y, so you should use tan 42º to get y.
