Gary has 10 coins in his pocket. • 2 quarters • 5 dimes • 3 nickels Without looking, Gary pulls one coin from his pocket and puts it on a table. Then, he pulls one more coin from his pocket. What is the probability that the first coin is a dime and the second coin is a nickel?

well you have a total of 10 right . so if he pulls out 1 coin it would be 1over 10 but it is asking for dimes so it would be 1/5 and the second one would be 1/3

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

isn't it 3/10 (since there's 3 nickels)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no because its asking for a specific coin dimes and nickels no for all the coins

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

thanks all!

OpenStudy (mertsj):

5/10 x 3/9
