for the equation f(x)= 1/ 4-x^ . do I add or subtract the for to both side or do I divide the 4 to both sides?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I believe divide but like what are u trying to find?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

trying to find the domain? |dw:1392260077442:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the domain are the x values and the range are the y values. so with that said, the domain is all real numbers except that x cannot be equal to +-2 (-2 or 2) because it would make f(x) undefined right? so yea

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok! So would the answer be (\[(-\infty,-2)U(-2,2)U(2,\infty)\]?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well yeah but remember the parentheses include that number while brackets do not. The brackets show the endpoints. So the parentheses next to the twos and negative twos, change them to brackets just to be on the safe side baby girl lol
