OpenStudy (factor):

no im not a creationist @Destinymasha but i believe the truth tht there were no such thing called as evolution

OpenStudy (destinymasha):

that ''truth'' is......what?

OpenStudy (factor):

and god is the one who created earth and everythin

OpenStudy (factor):

OpenStudy (factor):

any one else havin doubt on EVOLUTION

OpenStudy (destinymasha):

welcome

OpenStudy (frostbite):

He makes a elementary mistake already 3 seconds into the film.... impressive.

OpenStudy (destinymasha):

AN elementary mistake :} Just saying....

OpenStudy (destinymasha):

im kidding

OpenStudy (frostbite):

Heh, none the less the idea that he say "science has proven evolution is true"..... emmm no we haven't, in science we don't prove anything is try, but try prove what is NOT try. (After Popper) In other words, every "good" scientific theory is a prohibition: it forbids certain things happen. The more a theory forbids, the better it is. This can be tested using hypothetical-deductive method.

OpenStudy (frostbite):

Not true*

OpenStudy (destinymasha):

Thank you for your words of wisdom :}

OpenStudy (factor):

HAlf of science itself is false..who was there to witness the creatio of the earth...NO ONE THENCOME STUPID SCIENTIST SAY THT IT WAS THE BIG BANG THEORY @frostbite

OpenStudy (factor):

@frostbite and who told u every theory is rite...albert einstens theory of light is being proven wrong http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/3831424/Einstein-wrong-in-theory-at-least.html

OpenStudy (factor):

@frostbite...pls watch the videos forst then ocme 4 debate..

OpenStudy (factor):

and thnx @sarah786 and @donmath

OpenStudy (factor):

FRost plss watch and then talk....u christian

OpenStudy (factor):

cmon @Frostbite reply

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

Im muslim :D

OpenStudy (frostbite):

I don't say all theories are good, nor are they all "correct", and in fact, in science that is not what we say. That is the problem, you don't understand what our agenda is in science, so let me make it perfectly clear: I'll like to start by formulating some principles: The verifiability principle: "A sentence that says something about the world, is empirically meaningful if and only if it is either directly verifiable, and ie. that the principle can be confirmed or denied by observation, or can be set to have certain logical relationships to directly verifiable statements" - after the early Wittgenstein, Schlick, Neurath and Carnap The falsification criterion "Criterion on a theory's scientific status is its falsifibillity or its ability to be replicated" - After Popper. So when we set up a theory, the only way the theory can become scientific, is if it follow the falsification criterion, if it does obey the criterion, any attempt to treat the subject as science will be considered pseudoscience. Together with the verifiability principle it most follow that any attempt to test a theory is to try falsify it. So lets say I make an experiment to test a theory we call A, if my experiment follows the theory, we get to conclude that "my experiment can not falsify the theory, so the theory A got to be the best explanation FOR NOW" As you can see above, no where I said that something is "true" I just say we can't falsify it so it most be the best for now, until we get a better method, then we may be able to falsify the theory. Now the video talks about evolution not being true and such, it may be true, yet we can constantly find examples of experiments that can falsify it, but we can also find examples of experiments that can't falsify it when using logical induction. (So is the idea with big bang) so we constant try to revalidate the theory of evolution and try to falsify it. Now another thing in science is that we try to do predictions based on our theories. To take the big bang example: |dw:1392391093621:dw| We do simple predictions from our theories and models in order to: 1) explain how the past may have been. 2) to predict how the world may look in the future. This way of working is also supported by logic induction, but of cause within reasonable limits. All in all "science" is a method, to formulate general "truths" (special regularities) for purposes of explanation and prediction.
