If something starts out costing $500, and then marked down by 25% on each of three separate occasions, what is the final costs

OpenStudy (anonymous):

In these kinds of equations take the percentage 25 and turn it into a decimal .25 by moving the decimal to times to the left. Then multiply .25 by 500 to find 25% of 500 to get 125$, then subtract this from the total to get final cost of $375

Any q's?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

My choices are $281.25, $250, $210.94or $125. Don't I have to reduce every amt by 25%

@Oriental ???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It says that it was marked down 25% on each of three separate occasions

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh sorry didn't fully read it says it is discounted on three separate occasions so that would be a 75% discount, so .75 x 500 = 375 and then 500-375= 125$ :D
