What is the counterexample for the conjecture? Any number that is divisible by 4 is also divisible by 8. a. 24 b. 40 c. 12 d. 26 I know that 12 isn't divisible by 8 because 12/8 = 1.5 and 26 isn't divisible by 4 because 26/4 = 6.5

A counterexample will be a number that is divisible by 4 but NOT divisible by 8. 24: divisible by 4 and 8 40: divisible by 4 and 8 12: divisible by 4. NOT divisible by 8. Bingo.
