Sarah used her calculator to find sin 125 degrees. She wrote down sin 125 degrees = -.57. How could Sarah recognize that her answer is incorrect?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sin(125 rad) about = -0.6 sin(125 degrees) = 0.819 It could be the calc was not in degree mode

125 degrees is in-between 120 degrees, and 135 degrees, both of which are on the unit circle. Therefore, sin(125 degrees) should be in-between sin(120 degrees) and sin(135 degrees). sin(120 degrees) = sqrt(3)/2 = 0.866025 sin(135 degrees)= 1/sqrt(2) = 0.707107. Also, sin in quad 2 is positive.
