Quadrilateral ABCD has coordinates A (3, 5), B (5, 2), C (8, 4), D (6, 7). Quadrilateral ABCD is a : A) rectangle because opposite sides are congruent and adjacent sides are perpendicular. B) square because all four sides are congruent and adjacent sides are perpendicular C) parallelogram because opposite sides are congruent and adjacent sides are not perpendicular D) rhombus because all four sides are congruent and adjacent sides are not perpendicular. I got D, what do you think?

OpenStudy (zale101):

have you tried plotting the coordinates and connecting them?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes, without graph paper but I cant tell between rhombus, or square..

OpenStudy (zale101):

A rhombus is a quadrilateral where opposite sides are parallel, and all sides are the same length.A rhombus can therefore be a square if the square is a quadrilateral, the opposite sides of a square parallel, and the sides of a square have the same length. And yes, that's a rhombus shape you got.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you so much :)how do I give u a medal?

OpenStudy (zale101):

u can click "best response" to give a medal

OpenStudy (anonymous):

squares have right angles......? wait are u sure?

OpenStudy (zale101):

yeah, they have perpendicular sides or right angles a rhombus does not have, it's more of a diamond shape

OpenStudy (zale101):

yet, both of the are parallelogram

OpenStudy (zale101):

them*

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so it is a rhombus

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't have right angles on my drawing, and you don't either.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmm:/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

rhombus was wrong.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok ty

I know this answer was answered a year ago but the real answer is C ( Parallelogram )
