graph this line

@Lyrae

OpenStudy (lyrae):

Inset some values on x, for example 3, and 6 and calculate the corresponding y-value

OpenStudy (lyrae):

y-values*

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so 1/3 times 3 plus 2?

OpenStudy (lyrae):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so do I do the equation or do i plot a point on 3 for x and go from there?

OpenStudy (lyrae):

you need two points. you plot them in the graph and draw a line between them

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or would i then do the equation and that would be my y point?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so would 1/3 x 3+2 = 3 be my point for y?

OpenStudy (lyrae):

aah, ok. You need to plot two points in the graph. By selecting a x-value you can calculate it's corresponding y-value. Example: x = 3 y =1/3 x 3 + 2 = 3 gives one point in the graph: (3, 3)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so y = 3?

OpenStudy (lyrae):

yes, if x=3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so it would be: |dw:1392945568594:dw|
